GoufCustom (1070) - HONG KONG - MAY 16, 2015

500ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Clear copper brown colour; Two finger head and crumpety off-white foam which last for about 2 minutes; Good sticky lacing and very fizzy carbonation; Fragrant and sweet aroma of dark malt, with light roastyness, strong caramel, banana, toffee, light cocoa, sugar, strong yeast, light lemon and thin grass; Medium sweet taste of dark malt, with fairly strong rostyness, light nuts, very strong caramel, dark chocolate, very light mustiness, sugar, spices, light dark bread, yeast, very light lemon thin bitter grassy hops; Close to light body. Slick and smooth palate; Mouth feel is pretty good-bodied dark malts, fairly roasted with light nuts. Strong caramel throughout, followed by obvious dark chocolate, spices and dark bread. Sweetness is right on, subdued to match the low hops. Good!... Hoppiness is spices, light lemon and thin grass in nose and taste. Bitterness is very low for an abrupt, very low-fi sweet-bitter finish; Slightly dry after taste. Quite easy and smooth to mouth.

Comments: This one has a very strong caramel backbone in aroma with a cool touch of banana, backed by solid dark chocolate, spice, and dark bread. Clean, smooth and easy to drink and solid as a rock. Recommended.

500ml bottle in Berlin. Nice appearance with a cloudy brown body beneath an ample fluffy lasting cream-white head that laces well. Aroma is spicy (clove, peppery traces) with notes of banana, toffee and nuts. Good chewy malty palate with moderate sweetness and lively carbonation. One of the better dunkelweizens to try.

Dark ruby pour from tap. Medium thick head. Taste is rich and full bodied. Spice and caramel. Finishes with a bit of metallic taste. That would be the only downside of a nicely done Dunkel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein rötlich-braunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht röstmalzig, Karamell. Geschmack angenehm röstmalzig, würzig, trocken.

Had this at Hopfingerbrau, Mitte, Berlin, Germany Sunday 17th November 2013 Murky dark brown a little creamy vanilla initially quite a contrast to my Pils. Not much on the nose, a little sweet, I’m not getting a great deal but then wonder if my Pils has rather overidden this. A5 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.8
