from bottle. pours a clear yellow colour with a two-finger rocky white head that quickly fades away. aroma of floral hops and herbs with a slight amount of toasty maltiness and skunkiness in the background. light body, watery mouthfeel and average carbonation. the hopfen gold is characterised by quite a good balance of sweet and bitter notes and a taste that is definitely above that of your average german pilsener. highly drinkable session beer with some grassy and bready flavours and a pleasent bitter aftertaste, but nothing more...

This should be aliased with the other Hopfengold from the brewery. Trade with Culchiem. Thanks. Pours clear yellow with a small white head. Nose is straw and metal. Also some rotten notes. Flavor is rough grain, grass and a bit of bread. Medium bodied. Bitter dry finish.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2011 (Bottled) The Czech style Goller pils I sampled before this unfortunatly made this seem shallow in context. . NOW ths was sweet and bready , with woody fruity bitterness..but every sip made me think of a czech pils ..like when you have sex with some random chick and wish you were making love to your -X girlfriend.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 Bottle at home. It’s golden with a huge, creamy, white head. The aroma has light notes of butter (in the nice way), straw and bread. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of bread, straw and flower, and the finish is dry and refreshing.
