COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

14/IV/16 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 4/II/19 (2016-362)

Clear amber beer, small irregular beige to yellow head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: overripe banana, lots of it, yeasty, sweet, quite some caramel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of yeast, sweet, banana, malty, caramel, pretty bitter, bit of a smoky touch. Aftertaste: ashes, yeast, more banana, caramel, banana peel, pretty bitter still, roasted, charcoal. Nice one!

Thank you tderoeck for this very interesting treat. Here is an article about what makes this beer so interesting (in my opinion): http://www.bunitedint.com/information/brands/deScr 330 ml. bottle shared with tderoeck & kraddel. BBF 04.02.19. Deep red amber, little tanned head. Nose is strange sweet cough syrup, herbal, leaves, syrup, sweet very caramelized, very thick cough syrup. Taste is cough drops, cough syrup, black licorice, very sweet licorice candy, allmsot touch medicinal, very sweet herbal,.. Thick, very dry. Took some getting use but the more I drank it , the more I started to enjoy it. I think I would convert to this one if I were to drink it a few times. An acquired but very interesting taste. Neat.

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. A pretty average but still nice Doppelbock. Mostly on the caramel side of the spectrum. Thus pretty sweet, actually rather a bit too much.

Dark ruby color without foam. The smell has a sweet malty touch which is quite round. The taste is very sweet and alcoholic with a calm and heavy malt character. The aftertaste is insanely smooth.

Beautiful black-brown color with tan head. Aroma is sweet malts and caramel, molasses, toffee. Taste is the same, with a silky mouthfeel, a nice sweetness and a not too strong booziness. It’s a little bit too malty, but still very good.
