50 cl. bottle. Orange-amber body has some very fine particles creating a foggy haze. An island of meringue and ring of creamy foam sit on top. Nose is pine resin, light citrus zest and lemon toffee. Taste is tamer resin, honey and mildly sourish citrus toffee. Some toasted bread and dry grassy notes on the finish. Medium body has medium carbonation and no hint of the larger abv. Finish leans dry. Kind of a style buster and it’s a tastier brew than most I’ve had in the style.

Aroma is mostly malt. Some bitter in the flavor, but I cant really place it as hop bitter. Body is good tho it has some alcohol warmth. Decent drinking beer.

Nice malty aroma. Nice malty body too. Fairly textbook simple bock, not grabbing me as much as I like to be grabbed by a bock. Where’s the almond? Alcohol kinda covered, I can round up my score for that.

Bottled@HBF2015. Yellow colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, hrbal and quite grainy and malty. Flavour is quite similar, and the mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side of things. Nice herbal and bready aftertaste though.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint 0.9oz bottle into a mug. Appearance: The body is a pale yellow color with an average white head. The head fades slowly and makes a little spoty lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a deep bready quality with notes of clover honey and a touch of hops. Taste / Palate: The base is bready and sweet. The hop balance is light but it does add some grassy and earthy notes to the finish.

500 ml bottle shared by Werckmeister. Thanks Stefan!
Orange, hazy body, with a big, creamy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of honey, ripe fruits, some spice, overall a bit flat.
Tastes of sweet honey, ripe fruits, citrus, grass, some spices.
Light, quite creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter-sweet, fruity, sweet malty, a bit zesty.

Good, although I was expecting a bit more maybe. The nose is quite boring, while the taste offers some variety, with nice fruity notes. Still quite far behind my favourite Heller Bock with Saphir hops, which is Schnaitl Maibock.

bottle at home. BB 25.09.2015. orange, hazy color. small white head. smells a bit strange, grainy, candy, sweetness, light honey, overall smell not so great a bit stale maybe. full body, medium carbonation. full mouthfeel, rather sweet, honey, citric, oranges, plums, pines, candy. bitter / sweet, a bit medical finish. ok, was expecting a lot more. in general I dont like bitter sweet beers so much, this one was rather underwhelming.

A pale gold brew with more than enough foam and lots of flakes. Best after 2014 on the label. Smell is sweet ish, vegetal, earthy. Tastes like the above only with more of a vegetal almost rotten vegetable flavour. Has some semblance to a helles Bock but imho, the glory days, if it had one, are long gone. Decent mouthfeel. Not something I would ever drink again. Enough said
