Bottle. Jet black, quickly dropping coffee brown head and moderate condition. Excellent sweet coffee, chocolate, roast barley and slight smokiness in the nose, oily liquorice in the mouth with a muted roasted dryness and a gentle coffee bitterness tempered by a slightly fruity note, lingering liquorice and coffee sweetness in the finish.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’09. Black with tan head. Deep, darkly flavoured Stout, lots of good cocoa, burnt type flavours with an ashy woody flavour there too. Complex and rewarding, really pretty good.
