Surrey's stongest beer! Deep tawny colour, complex and powerful yet well balanced with fruity notes, and hints of chocolate & raisins. A truly stunning beer. A distinctive ale from the 'Barley Wine'
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt. Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Cask @ Croydon BF ’07. Pours a reddish, amber colour with no head. Aroma is very fruity, with dates and tropical fruits dominating. Taste is sweet, slight alcohol, fruity with bitter finish. Very nice BW.

Bottle from Beer Essentials. Fizzing beige on chestnut. Briefly forms a head. Sweet wafts of toffee, prunes, liquorice, decaying wood, nectarine and.. neat spiritous alcohol. Cask wood and peaty malt, antiseptic bitterness, mushroomy dankness, yeast extract, rum, raisin, more peaty malt and wood. Certainly some creamy chocolate notes now I’ve read the blurb. A bit raw and alcoholic, but a tasty BW.

Poured a very hazy red/orange/amber color with a very thin off-white head. Sweet and fruity with some oxidized malt character. The flavor is malty but pretty dull with some more oxidation. Sweet with some mild un-ripened peach. Dull mouth feel and low CO2. Medium bodied.

Handpulled cask at JDW Stanmore. Light chestnut in colour. Extremely sweet and cloying with very little hop characture to balance. A fruity, slightly lactic after taste. Nice warming feel good alcoholic kick. Pretty good for under £2 a pint.
