First brewed shortly after the foundation of the brewery, OTT is a very rich, dark ale. We use 4 different malt styles - pale, crystal, chocolate and malted wheat - each of which has a unique character. Local Fuggles hops added at various stages during the boil enhances the beerís depth. Old Tongham Tasty is named after the village where we brew in a farm on the edge of the Surrey Hills. Its complexity drinks ílike a festival of different tastes on the tongueí - at least thatís how it was described after a lengthy sampling session.

Bottled, 500ml a present from Sandra. Brown with short lasting pale brown head. Quite a sweet, wine like, fruity beer, full on the palate, quite heavy with a light chocolate roastiness in the background. The larger bottle is overdoing it a bit, but not bad.

Bottle, bought at Cockneys, Aarhus. Pours a beautiful, deep, chestnut brown with a fine, frothy, off-white head. Sweetish aroma with lots of caramel, some roasted malts and a fruity edge with some red berries. Lowish carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit weak, compared to the aroma. Some light roated malts and chocolate with a subdued hoppy dryness. Quite drinkable.

This nice beer is almost black and itís hasnít got much head to boast about. Both aroma and flavour has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, and there is a nice and dry bitterness in the finish. Itís not a thick beer like a stout, but still pretty thick for a dark ale. I really like this one, truly nice...

One-third pint ale dispensed on gravity at GBBF 09. Nice and clean, devil-black body. Smell of dark fruits and mild roasted malts. Jam-like flavour with fruitcakes and prunes supported by sweet, black malts. Well rounded aftertaste with rather low impact of alcohol on the palate (Earls Court, 07.08.2009).

A very dark beer with a rich biscuit malt body along with smokey toffee notes - one for bonfire night perhaps. There is also a slightly vinous character. This is a little thin in the mouthfeel but still pleasant.

(bottle) Dark brown colour with a ruby shine and a beige and short foamy head. Moderately roasty malty aroma with notes of chocolate, caramel, liquorice-spice and a whiff of dried fruits. Roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Hearty roasty malty base with hints of molasses, caramel and dark chocolate, accompanied by subtle fruity notes towards the moderately dry and bitter hoppy and roasty finish. Very tasty indeed. 04.VI.07 & 11.III.12

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a purple hue and a small tan coloured head. The aroma has notes of plums and sweet caramel together with a little licquorice. The taste has more dark fruits together with a little chocolate malt and a feel of oil or petrol. A nice tasty fruity, quite full-bodied beer
