3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 hawthorne00 (1890) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - APR 24, 2011
Bottle. Deep brown with a coat of beige head that disappears. Aroma of singed toffee, nuts, stewed fruits, a meadow. Taste has stewed fruit, toffee, chocolate, some floral/ herbal note. Rather flat and thin - bottle says brewery conditioned, not bottle conditioned - and not quite mouthfilling. Nice spiced chocolate finish. Suspect that bottling has ruined this.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 thewolf (9992) - Kolding, DENMARK - DEC 14, 2008
Bottle, bought at Cockneys, Aarhus. Pours a beautiful, deep, chestnut brown with a fine, frothy, off-white head. Sweetish aroma with lots of caramel, some roasted malts and a fruity edge with some red berries. Lowish carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit weak, compared to the aroma. Some light roated malts and chocolate with a subdued hoppy dryness. Quite drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mungo (2472) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - MAY 13, 2004
Bottle. Fleeting taste of chocolate with first mouthfull which rapidly disappears to leave liquorice flavours which develop into a complex burnt, treacly taste. Very viscous and satisfying but begins to cloy towards the end. Well worth a try but a whole bottle is a bit much.
