Rounded and fruity aroma, with notes of marmalade and marzipan, vanilla ice cream, candy. It’s not as good as that sounds - but it’s still pretty good.. Nice in the mouth - small bubbles - i approve. Taste - difficult to pin down - nothing amazing, but good. First up a slightly harsh bitterness, then creamy sweetness. I’d definitely drink again.

The (not so) shit beer tasting at Leightons stratospheric flat. Clear deep amber beer, little pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and semi dry. Light caramel malt. Little dry. Dried fruit hops. Little tang, little bitterness.

Bottle, 20/08/13. Pours orangey amber with a decent, off-white head. Aroma is caramel, orange marmalade, a lot of flowers. Taste is a lot of flowers, like frolicking in a field full of them. Some caramel, dry finish. Light with some carbonation.

Malt and a touch of dried fruit on the aroma, mostly prune and raisin. Oddly most of these aromas vanish in the flavour leaving a slightly thin sweetness and a flat bitterness

Cask. Deep ruby pour. Simple fruity malt. Nuttiness. Uneventful finish, kinda boring mouthfeel. Decent dark bitter altogether though.

Cask at Victoria Station JDW, 04/04/13. Lightly hazed dark amber vergeing on chestnut brown with a thin beige head. Nose carries dark malt, light hops, dark fruit, yeasty notes, brown sugar. Taste comprises toffee, light banana, gentle suggestion of booze - surprising for a 5% beer, malts. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dryish sweet finish. Average.
