3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 foolberry (48) - New Malden, Surrey, - FEB 5, 2013Rounded and fruity aroma, with notes of marmalade and marzipan, vanilla ice cream, candy. It’s not as good as that sounds - but it’s still pretty good.. Nice in the mouth - small bubbles - i approve. Taste - difficult to pin down - nothing amazing, but good. First up a slightly harsh bitterness, then creamy sweetness. I’d definitely drink again.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 richc (144) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2013
Malt and a touch of dried fruit on the aroma, mostly prune and raisin. Oddly most of these aromas vanish in the flavour leaving a slightly thin sweetness and a flat bitterness
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 AWS9 (406) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - APR 14, 2013
Cask. Deep ruby pour. Simple fruity malt. Nuttiness. Uneventful finish, kinda boring mouthfeel. Decent dark bitter altogether though.

Cask at Victoria Station JDW, 04/04/13.
Lightly hazed dark amber vergeing on chestnut brown with a thin beige head.
Nose carries dark malt, light hops, dark fruit, yeasty notes, brown sugar.
Taste comprises toffee, light banana, gentle suggestion of booze - surprising for a 5% beer, malts.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dryish sweet finish.
Average.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 olliejobbins (327) - Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2012
500ml bottle. Pours a dark chocolate brown/dark amber.
No head and contrary to others, no lacing. I thought the aroma and taste were great. Pretty complex with coffee and spices coming through. Slightly woody and strong hops with the alcohol also being present. A far better ESB than the Ringwood fortyniner i had prior to it.

Musky indeed is the operative word besides unbalanced and astringent in aftertaste. Lot of bite here with malty backdrop almost like liquer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 essexcalf (170) - Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 16, 2012
(Bottle). Strong Ale. Clear, dark amber. Light, off-white head. Medium carb. Light, spicy hop aroma, slightly vegetable-ish, not much to it and a bit of an unpleasant muskiness. Taste is slightly sweet, slight spicy hops, not very much going on. Drinkable, but uninteresting.
