barnyard, brown, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, bitter, I don’t quite know how to describe this one. Interesting. Pours to a brownish-amber with a decent aroma. Initial taste is good with a woody, almost pine-like taste on the finish. the further down it the worse it got strange

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Golden tea in colour with a thin dissipating white head, very light patchy lacing. Aroma is of grains and cereal, herbal hops, some caramel sweetness. Flavour is a bit watery, some light bitterness, caramel malt sweetness, herbal. Lightly bitter but thin mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation. Finishes fairly quick, grainy, sweet. A little thin for my tastes, probably better on cask then from the bottle.

A perfect beer to sup with a bag of pork scratchings. Uncomplicated but pleasant enough. Drank it from a bottle - just the right carbonation level. Nice chestnut colour.

Cask 1 Pint, Yates, Bournemouth, England, UK. Rubinowe piwo o bardzo cienkiej i szybko znikającej pianie oraz karmelowym, lekko chmielowym aromacie. W smaku początkowo słodowe, karmelowe z przyjemną, chmielową goryczką na finiszu.

A traditional English bitter from a 50cl bottle. It has great clarity, indicating that it a filtered ale. The colour is amber with a cream coloured foamy head which disperses quickly. The aromas are of malts and leaves. There is a taste of well-hopped bitterness, balanced with a soft bread-like maltiness. Light, but not watery. A very pleasant bitter with high drinkability.

Aug 2014 - It is 8 years ago that I last had a bottle of this. Anyway, today it is on cask. Hazy orange, small white head. Body is light, slightly foamy. Taste is very soft malt character, a touch metallic in the finish. (2.8)

Nov 2014 - Cask at the William Morris JDW. Dark orange / brown, hazy, small scummy head. Aroma is light, nothing much to say. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is gluey, light resin, some ash towards the finish, soft bitterness. Overall impression - tangy and drying. OK. (3.0)
