UPDATED: AUG 27, 2013 Clear dark amber beer. Deep, toasty malt aroma. Smokey, sugary malt hit with a lighter, tangy finish. The taste doesn’t last long though, giving the beer an almost watery quality. It’s a shame because with the flavours that are there it feels like it ought to be nicer and heartier than it is.

Copper colour with a very thin off-white head. Very strong english hop aroma with powerful medicinal qualities. Medium-bodied; Definitely strong medicinal quality with a subtle wheatiness. Aftertaste shows a sour english hop characteristic

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts and a light hoppiness. Taste is also caramel malts with a soft bitter finish. It is not as malty as a lot of bitters, which I like. Thin body and a medium carbo. Easy to drink and refreshing, quite a nice bitter.

500 ml bottle, poured into an english pint glass. ABV 4,2% Amber in colour, no activity inthe glass and no lacing left around it once the one finger, tan head has disappeared. Not much of an aroma, some caramel a bit of butter. Caramel on the taste, slighty bitter aftertaste. Some nice fruit notes and just a little bit of hops on the background. Medium thin on the body, light carbonation. Good beer, not the greatest from the english ones that I have tried.

Bottle from Waitrose. Dark amber beer with small head. Aroma is malt and toffee. Taste is malt, a little smoke and herbal. Not a good beer, well Surrey is ticked at least. But a poor 100th bitter rating choice by me.
