COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At one time in England, before pales or stouts, Brown or running ales were the only commercially produced beer style. HogsBack’s Full Monty is tongue in cheekily named in honour of the recent exploits of Prince Harry in Las Vegas, Full Monty is a refreshing take on Britain’s original beer style brewed with lightly kilned malts giving it its signature brown colour and a light malty chocolate – somewhat nutty, caramelized flavor with sweet aroma and a slight bitter finish. So rise to the occasion, head out to your favourite pub, and ask for the Full Monty

A reddish brown ale with a thin creamy brown head. In aroma, sweet butterscotch malt with strawberries, solvents. In mouth, a smooth caramel malt with British hops, butterscotch, OK. On tap at Arrow and Loon, Jan 2 2013.

Pint at The Loon. Very deep ruby mahogany with a fair off-white head. Quite vinous and fruity, butterscotch, smells like a Ringwood beer. Medium body, fairly relaxed effervescence. Nice roasty malts, a touch vinous, a touch fruity, a some brown sugar, pretty nice, a touch of butterscotch and Ringwood character; dry with restrained bitterness and a reasonable fruity, lightly estery, vinous finish.

Draught at the Highlander Pub, Ottawa. Pours a dark, deep amber-brown with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Some lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt, chocolate, some sweetness and nuts. Malty, chocolatey flavor along with nuts and a very light bitter finish. Average bodied. An enjoyable Winter beer, I enjoyed it.
