Pour on cask at the brewery, nice hazy yellow with fluffy white head, as always on cask looks great. Aroma brings nice soft biscuity malts, touch of grass, nice spice and pils malts, touch of nice lemony notes as well, clean aroma that is really inviting. Taste is nice sweet lemony, biscuit malts, some slight spice and grainy notes, some sweet vanilla, honey notes, finishing sweet, slightly bitter, and dry. Well done.

3fourths (8038) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 18, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 21, 2012 firkin dry-hopped with EKG. hazy golden amber body with a creamy and rich white head. has similar whisky / cognac / brined cherry malt as the ESB and bitter from the marris otter, but with more of a spiced apricot and orange pith from what I have to guess is the Lake Lightning portion plus the EKG, which combined with the English ale yeast gives it pronounced fruitiness and a mossy / green character. of course the carbonation is divinely soft and creamy; body is only mildly husky; hop bitterness is measured and acid is lightly prickly and lively. quenching, silky, and rich presence in the mouth.

Hand pull. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy-creamy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is earthy, herbal, spicy hops, biscuit and light toast malt with fruity esters. Flavor is lightly sweet malt, medium hops and bitterness, light fruity esters, good balance, and a dry finish. Medium-light body, medium carbonation.

Cask pint at the brewery - hazy reddish pour - this is one earthy freakin’ beer - very dry throughout - up front it is fairly estery, with brighter notes of cherry and citrus - crackery malt through the middle, with crisp, vibrant bitterness - dry, earthy, peaty, almost whiskey-ish character - finish is of earthy, dusty yeast and basement qualities - lovely, creamy texture throughout - very nice beer.
