Half pint draft at Hogshead in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a deep brown burgundy with a 1/2 inch tan head. Head leaves nice lacing. The aroma is lightly sweet dark chocolate, a hint of roast, and a soft bready malt. Engaging nose. The taste is the malt sweet notes initially, dark chocolate, toffee, bread, then turns to the subtle natural, well integrated roast. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and a clean slightly roasty finish. Well done Porter, very drinkable. Would have loved to try this on cask.

On Tap at Denver Winter Brew Fest ’13. Pour is deep brown/mahogany with a small tan head; decent lacing. Roast, cocoa, graham crackers, marshmallows, rye, a touch of dark fruits, herbal, and light spice in the aroma. Taste is chocolate, dark roast, good spice notes - cinnamon, anise, nutmeg - a touch of grass and coffee. Medium body with medium-to-soft carbonation. Well-balanced porter full of wonderful chocolate and roast notes. Delicious!
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 arrogantb (1398) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 22, 2012
On cask at the brewery, tasted a friend’s pint and immediately ordered one. Dark black, expected head. Smell is robust, malts, coffee, chocolate, roast. Flavor is very robust porter: coffee, chocolate, malts. It literally coats the tongue and you can taste it lingering in your mouth. Great stuff especially if you like porters. I dare say this might be the best porter in Colorado.

Pour on cask at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with fluffy tan head, aroma brought notes of nice coffee, roast, bready and yeasty notes, some hints of chocolate and cocoa bean, hints of a nice spice in there as well. Taste is pretty nice, smooth of course on cask, with a chocolate, dark cocoa powder, hints of toffee and sweet dark fruits, nice coffee and roast in the finish. Nice stuff, though not overly complex.
