2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, - FEB 21, 2005
(Draught@Kaisla, Helsinki) Clear, dark ruby color with a smallish, tanned head. Faint, fruityish-smoky-malty aroma with some flowery hops and cardboard. Quite smoky, slightly roasted, malty flavor with hints of berries and sugar - plus some cardboard. Light to medium-bodied and sweetish palate with quite lemonadey carbonation. Quite light and watery, sugary-sweet brew. Original flavor, but not that pleasant. Smokiness is a plus.

Draught@Vltava,Helsinki. Poured dark brown color with a white musty head. Quite sweet roasted malt aroma, flavor is sweet malty, bready, bit watery. Overall an easy to drink typical czech dunkel.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marko (3161) - Split, CROATIA - APR 5, 2010
Draught at Vltava, Helsinki. Poured an extremely dark red body, almost black with a thick tan head. Sweet creamy nose, raisins. The taste is sweet as well, light raisins again, cranberries maybe or some aspect of their taste anyway, maybe bubblegum. It does sound fruitier in this rate than it is, but it’s just another Czech dunkel. Nice and light, the only "bad" thing being some cardboard somewhere in there, that I might as well have imagined.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (6216) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 27, 2008
UPDATED: APR 6, 2008 Keg (Vltava, Helsinki)
Previous rating was of a duff one, and completely disregarding. Very dark red, healthy tight keggy head. Tart sour blackcurrant and some ashy burnt malts. Fairly fizzy in the mouth, definitely needs swirling. Taste is quite raw, grainy, and slightly husky, with some quite noticable burntness. For best taste, and creamiest palate, swirl plenty and let it get warmer.

Tapped. Dark red colour with beige foamy head. Sweet plummy aroma with hints of smoke. Fruity malt flavour with hints of plum and smoke. Not typical Czech dark beer, so it was a positive surprise to drink this one.
