Hazy golden with medium white head. Sweet fruity aroma with malty and hoppy notes. Sweet flavor with yeasty, hoppy and citric notes. Ends light bitter.

Bottle. Hazy orange. Bt sweet fruity hoppiness and some maltiness in the aroma. Bitter malty flavour with some fruitiness. Bitter dry finish.

tap. it has a golden color with a small head. there is a buttery aroma. the taste is soft and yeasty and buttery.

Københavnske Øldage 07. Nice golden color and a creamy head. The aroma has notes of butterscotch, the flavour of malt, light fruit and citrus. OK, but could have had more power and personality. 2079

Small white head, orange body with slight haze. Fruity malt aroma. Bittersweet mango malt taste with citric roasty notes. Full, smooth mouthfeel. Bitter mango aftertaste. Nice and drinkable. (0.1l draft.)

Draught at Kobenhavnske Oldage, May 2006. Sold simply as Holbaek India Pale Ale, but I assume it has been renamed since then. Let’s hope the beer has been revamped since then too. I thought the Vesterbro IPA was bad, but this was worse. As others have noted, this was so laden with diacetyl and raw malt that any other characteristics were completely eclipsed. Clearly something has gone wrong here. But if it has, the brewery should be brave enough to admit that and not serve it up. Frankly terrible - I’ll have to give it another chance as I can’t imagine it can be this bad normally.
PS. I visited the brewpub on my 2007 visit but this beer wasn’t available so I haven’t been able to give it a second chance yet.

CBf07 sample from tap. Pours golden orange with a little lacing head, looks really good. Aroma is mouldy, buttery. Flavour is dry malty and not bitter at all. Vague finish. Flavour and aroma is a let down compared to the expectations raised by the visual appearance, sadly.
