Commercial Description:
Editor's note: The bottled version has been brewed at Herslev Bryghus.

English: This beer is brewed using a combination of six different types of barley malts with added sage. It is a strong spicy and dark beer. But yet it maintains an easy to drink profile and will make many friends. Holbæk Winterstout will help you keeping warm in the cold season.

Bottle. Poured black with a small light brown head. Aroma was very weak with some roasted malt notes. Flavor also had roasted malts with an undertone of spice, I am guessing the sage.

Almost black color. Mild aroma, light Danish yeast, very light smoke. It has a medium mouthfeel, with some caramel and chocolate flavor, and some puckery sourness; from the aroma to the flavor it’s evident that this beer is problematic. Not good.

From tap, at Den årlige ølsmagning i Valhal. Pours dark brown, slight murky, and with a little creamy tan head. Mild roasted malt and smooth chocolate in the aroma. Slight smoked note to a nice sweet roasted malt flavour. Shows a mild smooth chocolate note asweel. Ends with solid bitterness swept in sweet and smooth chocolate malt. Nice.

Draught at Valhal 08. Pours dark brown/black with fast disappearing head. Smoke and roasted malts in the nose. Palate is way to thin for a stout imo. Flavor is smoked malt and coffee. A dissapointment.

Rating # 3600. Deep reddish, brown colour with a dense tan head. Roasted malty aroma with a caramel and nougat sweet note along some fruityness. Roasted malty flavor with a vague coffee bitter note and hints of some chocolate sweetness.
