bobinlondon (215), Harrow, Greater London, England Jul 16, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW Watford during recent international beer fest. Pale gold with white head. Earthy hops and oranges in the nose. Flavour is sweet, fruity and hoppy, with some background caramel and a touch of butterscotch, with a nice bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, good carbonation. Well balanced and drinkable. Very good black country entire.
wheresthepath (213), Buckinghamshire, England May 16, 2008 [Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] A case of "yes, yes, yes, no, no ugh!". Sweet & malty at first but descending into bitterness, eventually revolting, struggled to finish it. Nothing special about this. sm89walt (173), Norwich, Norfolk, England Apr 10, 2008 Cask - ’Spoons. Orange in colour with a disappearing off-white head. Predominantly fruity nose, citric hop notes in the background. Sweet and smooth on the tongue with tones of grass and more citric fruits, resulting in a nicely bitter end. Magic_dave6 (3642), London, Greater London, England Apr 4, 2008 Cask in the counting house. Aroma is caramel and pale malts, grassy hop. Taste is similar quite sweet like, not too great, but non offensive also. evilsoc (138), Wales Apr 1, 2008 Dark amber. A cheap red wine apple like aroma with moderate malt. Grainy flavours and a tight subtle sweetness followed by a little bitterness to end the whole affair. Dull.
