Bottle. A pleasant and refreshing light bitter. One of the first bottled beers I tried when it was very difficult to get hold of ant decent bottled beers.

Bottle. Copper coloured beer with a strongish white head. The aroma is hopped with a touch of caramel, and the flavour is quite bitter with a malty toffee'ness. Overall a good bitter and toffee flavoured beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml brown bottle, best before Oct 2010, poured in my small ’La Chouffe’ tulip glass three times (on Saturday 21 Aug 2010). Looked a picture, bright golden/light amber body with a lovely snow white foaming crown on top for each pour. Grainy aroma, with a subtle hop presence around too. The flavours blend well, hops dominate the initial taste, but the malts come through as the mouth warms the beer up, only for the hops to win the day as a bitterness arrives as the mouth dries. I like Holden’s beers, they are uncomplicated, honest and very drinkable. I am suprised I haven’t reviewed a few more, because I regularly drink their beers on cask.

erickok (1086) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 17, 2011
Golden body, too small head. Mild sweet start but nice and bitter from there on. Apple, wheat and dough. Bit sticky in the end. Fairly good on flavour. Easy to drink but misses some strength. Just too much carbonation. Fine but not amazing bitter. (50cl bottle)

500ml bottle. Pours golden with a medium sized head. Aroma is slighty floral, a bit bready, maybe some honey? Sweet start with some grass, dry bitter finish. Good session bitter.

Bottle from Lutterworth Waitrose. Bright gold with a high fluffy collar. Unwholesome boiled vegetable and cardboard aroma with hints of pine, honey and metal. Soapy and slick with notes of honey, pastry, chlorine and vegetables.Astringent metallic aftertaste. Struggled with this: the sink got some.

Cask Handpump at the Shakespeare Inn, Coalport 20/08/2005 Golden coloured and hoppy with a little sour fruit flavour. Crisp on the palate with a hint of dryness and bitterness in the finish.
