3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Smells like fig, coffee and a touch of whisky barrel. The pallet is a sweet vanilla and fig flavor, followed by coffee and finishes with a bitter chocolate.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle. Pours a very dark red-black, with only a slight amount of head. Aroma is of chocolate-orange (like Terryís), coffee and and a lovely red berry component which I love. Really wonderful nose. Thereís a hint of vanilla here, but itís not very prominent. Flavour is beautiful. The attack has a subtle hint of sweetness. This is followed by chocolate and shade of yeastiness on the mid palate, and the finish is a wonderful combination of bitter chocolate, roasted coffee and a subtle smokiness. This is a really lovely beer. The finish is long, and evolves after youíve swallowed becoming more toasty and smoky as time goes on. The body is surprisingly light. Itís by no means a light-bodied beer, but itís not overbearing. Itís also less viscous than I was expecting, although it definitely has some of that oily mouth feel. Highly recommended.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had on tap at the Albion hotel in Newcastle.
Pours pitch black. Aroma consisted of mostly coffee and cocoa/chocolate. Taste is dominated but Chocolate and vanilla and to a lesser extent coffee. Extremely smooth beer which a great slow sipping beer. Overall its a beer that certainly deserves to be regarded in the top 10 of Australian brews.

Tap at AHH Beer Fest. Dark choc brown tinged cola with light tan head, diminishing. Choc, cocoa, vanilla, milky choc sweetness all on the nose with a touch of complex pitted fruit. Med body, malts all balanced. Choc, toffee, vanilla, rum, cocoa and toast. FInishes nice and smooth lingering with a touch of hops and milk choc cocoa and toast.

Love the chocolatey / roasty armoma. Full bodied and the chocolate velvety roasty aftertaste lingers for a long time. Just my kind of porter!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a deep mahogony with a small white ring for a head which quickly disappears to leave no head at all. No lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate and roasted malts. Loads of cocoa comess through with some piney hops in the end. Not bad, much much better as it warms

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
dark brown body, a hint of amber, a big beige head, great retention with even better full and thick lacing... decent nose with cocoa nibs, and vanilla on the finish but has a wafting alcohol chemicalness that I donít like... wow, this is extremely sweet, tons of milk chocolate, a touch too much for me, vanilla tries to balance on the finish but just doesnít make it... easy drinker but too sweet

Smells and tastes like dark chocolate. A nice dessert beer, but not sweet. No sourness or bitterness. No head. Definitely smooth and mellow.
