A very tempting extreme twist on the classic robust porter, brewed with over 300 kg of malt and infused with a dash of rich Dutch cocoa and whole vanilla beans. Luscious chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors are balanced by a hint of vanilla and a body of 6% alcohol. A perfect winter warmer or a complement to meat pies and chocolate-based desserts. A definite "unisex" beer with great appeal for both guys and gals.

Murky almost brown with a small tan head. Strong mocha aroma, tons of vanilla and rum, ripe plumb and a hint of vegemite... Palate is smooth at first, but when the sweetness dissipates, it becomes almost harsh coffee and leaves some dry cocoa feel. Similarly, the flavours start with a sweet chocolate/rum/dark fruit and finish more towards the coffee vegemite thing. Wonderfully complex and drinkable.

Into a snifter at cellar temperature. Cola brown with good clarity in the shallows otherwise it is black. Steadfast, stumpy tannish cream atop that leaves a fine lace. Complex nose that leans away from the expected burst of cocoa. Chocolate icecream is prominent with edges of roasted cacao beans, Biltong umami, salted caramel fudge and a little pot pourri. Malty with a creeping smokiness and touch of ash. Good body, smooth with light carbonation upfront. Meaty, umami fuelled with licks of chocolate icecream, twiggy bark, vanilla, salted caramel, earth and pot pourri. Lasting cocoa and wood flavour. Drinks well and is sumptuous when slow sipped. Was well impressed from start to finish. A delicious Porter. (33cL, bottled on 08/06/16, Dan Murphy’s Cannington)

330ml bottle into a tulip glass. Dark black/brown with a tan head. Not a huge aroma, but hints of chocolate within, and a little vanilla. Taste of chocolate upfront, with caramel in the middle and a late lingering finish of something that could be vanilla (given the label says it is, I’ll be swayed to agree). Well balanced and warming on a winter’s night.
