COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very tempting extreme twist on the classic robust porter, brewed with over 300 kg of malt and infused with a dash of rich Dutch cocoa and whole vanilla beans. Luscious chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors are balanced by a hint of vanilla and a body of 6% alcohol. A perfect winter warmer or a complement to meat pies and chocolate-based desserts. A definite "unisex" beer with great appeal for both guys and gals.

Bottle. Exceptional beer. Aroma has chocolate, raisins, and roasted malt. Sweet start, with good balancing bitterness, long duration. Syrupy in the palate, full-bodied. Dark brown colour, with a fizzy white head.

Love the chocolatey / roasty armoma. Full bodied and the chocolate velvety roasty aftertaste lingers for a long time. Just my kind of porter!

Very dark richly flavoured Chocolate Porter. An excellent dose of chocolate. One of my favourites

Vanilla, chocolate and a lot of coffee in aroma, taste is smooth with more coffee than chocolate.

330ml bottle. Pours a very dark red-black, with only a slight amount of head. Aroma is of chocolate-orange (like Terry’s), coffee and and a lovely red berry component which I love. Really wonderful nose. There’s a hint of vanilla here, but it’s not very prominent. Flavour is beautiful. The attack has a subtle hint of sweetness. This is followed by chocolate and shade of yeastiness on the mid palate, and the finish is a wonderful combination of bitter chocolate, roasted coffee and a subtle smokiness. This is a really lovely beer. The finish is long, and evolves after you’ve swallowed becoming more toasty and smoky as time goes on. The body is surprisingly light. It’s by no means a light-bodied beer, but it’s not overbearing. It’s also less viscous than I was expecting, although it definitely has some of that oily mouth feel. Highly recommended.

Pours dark brown with slight hints of red. Medium brown head. Aroma of roast and chocolate and dark fruits. Initial taste is bitter/alcoholic, but the longer the beer remains in your mouth the more chocolate/sweetness you can taste. The finish is nothing to shout home about, but the beer definitely lives up to its name with its richness and subtlety.

Dark with a mild chocolate taste, hints of mocha. A decent beer that I could drink a few of.

330ml bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a nice roasty aroma with a hint of spice. Wow the flavours is the kicker.. a slight bitterness to start with then an amazing chocolate hit!!! i’d have to say this if one of the best tasting porters i have had.

Murky almost brown with a small tan head. Strong mocha aroma, tons of vanilla and rum, ripe plumb and a hint of vegemite... Palate is smooth at first, but when the sweetness dissipates, it becomes almost harsh coffee and leaves some dry cocoa feel. Similarly, the flavours start with a sweet chocolate/rum/dark fruit and finish more towards the coffee vegemite thing. Wonderfully complex and drinkable.

(Bottle) Clear dark mahogany brown with red hints and a very thin tan head. Lovely aroma of coffee with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Full bodied with moderate but bright carbonation. Amazing taste that keeps evolving. Initial taste is rich dark toffee with some balancing sharper notes of a typical porter. Coffee, dark chocolate, hop bitterness and maybe some alcohol bite develop. This turns into a finish that tails off very slowly with gentle chocolate and vanilla flavours. Very impressive beer.
