COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very tempting extreme twist on the classic robust porter, brewed with over 300 kg of malt and infused with a dash of rich Dutch cocoa and whole vanilla beans. Luscious chocolate, coffee, and caramel flavors are balanced by a hint of vanilla and a body of 6% alcohol. A perfect winter warmer or a complement to meat pies and chocolate-based desserts. A definite "unisex" beer with great appeal for both guys and gals.

I’ve never been a massive fan of chocolate flavoured beers. For some reason they always come off tasting artificial, which I guess it is. But, this beer was quite good.

330 ml bottle. Bottled on 13/04/12. Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Finland. Very dark brown almost black colour with a tiny tan head. Chocolate, roasted malt, mild hops, more chocolate (milk and dark) and mild coffee in the aroma. The flavour is very chocolatey with some roasted malt, mild coffee, mild hops, vanilla, cocoa and mild bitterness. The chocolate is very much present. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(Bottle) Clear dark mahogany brown with red hints and a very thin tan head. Lovely aroma of coffee with hints of chocolate and vanilla. Full bodied with moderate but bright carbonation. Amazing taste that keeps evolving. Initial taste is rich dark toffee with some balancing sharper notes of a typical porter. Coffee, dark chocolate, hop bitterness and maybe some alcohol bite develop. This turns into a finish that tails off very slowly with gentle chocolate and vanilla flavours. Very impressive beer.

Pours dark brown with slight hints of red. Medium brown head. Aroma of roast and chocolate and dark fruits. Initial taste is bitter/alcoholic, but the longer the beer remains in your mouth the more chocolate/sweetness you can taste. The finish is nothing to shout home about, but the beer definitely lives up to its name with its richness and subtlety.

Jado (249) - Camp Hill, AUSTRALIA - FEB 26, 2013
Dark brown with red highlights and a diminishing tan head in the glass. The nose is dominated by dark chocolate and black coffee. Big roast flavour up front with some bitterness; followed up by some cocoa nib and espresso and maybe a bit of raisin or fig toward the end. Finishes with a light sweetness and a little smoke. A very enjoyable Aussie porter.

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a dark mahogany colour with a thin broken tan head and a little broken lace. The aroma is very clearly of sweet fruit and chocolate and this also dominates the flavour too. There is also some late developing bitterness on the palate and in the aftertaste. It’s a great Chocolate Porter, but its one of those Chocolate beers that might become a little sickly after a while.

Dark brown opaque beer. Tidy cream - tan colour head. Light semi dry palate. A little papery dark malt, mild and slightly aged tasting. Mild orange hop underneath. Mild dark chocolate powder. Dry finish. Okay if a bit clunky.
