3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Compared to some of the other worldly big porters/stouts I tried at RBJG this came off very much second tier. All the classic flavours are present but it seems a bit flat, dare I say lifeless and certainly not overloaded with charm. Solid, but not much to get excited about.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
$12 schnooer at Deja Vu
Bloody hell this is good. My immediate reaction was to suggest this is a best local beer I had ever tried! Not quite, perhaps, but a fantastically high powered choc porter / stout in amazing balance and slurpability. Clean, clear lines of chocolate and choc orange and a hint of buzzy minerals to finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2013 Smell is rich coffee-choc. Not so much of the chocolate though. Taste is same with bitterness in tow. Bitter palate. Overall a good beer, but love to see what happens with it next year.
