well. if you have ever had a heineken that was a touch past its drinking date- then you have Holland Import. a simple crisp skunk grass flavour and smell. annoying if you don’t to the pound town thing. but decent for the price. less than 5 bucks with tax. and being a rather refined hobo- i likes this. now, pass me my pickle jar, i have to make a deposit around back....

Compared toalltheother pale lagers and pilsener I’ve had in colombia this is pretty good. Crisp and with some actual flavor.

330ml can into glass. White head, sweetish aroma. Slightly bitter. Crisp finish, not bad for a (very) cheap beer.

Can. Golden beer. Sweet smell of maltose. Taste of mostly maltose as well, way too sweet and watery. Bad beer.

Can for about a buck at Kaldi Coffee. Served in a footed pilsner. Clear light gold with a soapy white looking head. Slightly rough grainy aroma but it does have some redeeming biscuity notes & no excessive sweetness. After being out for a bit I get sweat socks in the nose. The body is light with too much sharp light carbonation giving it a shaken up soda mouthfeel. The taste is bad, green, cardboard, grapes, sharp bitter finish & a lingering sugary aftertaste. Fail. Way over carbonated, the best thing about it is the can & it’s appearance. It looks the part of a lager but delivers something for alcoholics with no sense of taste.

Can from somewhere. Sewer, spirits nose. Harsh fake malt, tiny hopping, and it goes nowhere. Thin and rasty on the tongue. Few redeeming qualties in this one. Well, it IS cold and liquid (....maybe it’d be better warm and solid?.....)

330 ml can labelled “Holland Import Premium Beer” bought at CR Vanguard Supermarket in North Point.

Piss-like golden yellow colour; Razor-thin head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Near zero lacing and notable carbonation; Sweet smell of malt, strong corn and rice, syrup, wet cardboard and light grass; Taste of light malt, with sweet corn, strong rice, light wet cardboard, liquorices and straw. Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is typical macro - thin malt loaded with corn and rice, fading sweetness and light wet cardboard; No real hoppiness, all from extract, with faint grass nose, strong liquorice, fake citrus, and unusually strong bitterness and astringency for finish. Too artificial to be impressive though; Slightly dry after taste, quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: One good thing about this cheapo macro is that it’s upfront and honest, listing maltose and hop extract as ingredients, and true enough it tastes like a rice and corn-loaded Chinese macro plus Flensburger-like fake bitterness. Other than that, it’s better than most Asian macros and even Budweiser. Don’t mean to be a compliment, though.

Test vom 11.3.2010, Gebinde: Dose Noten: 8,6,8,6,9,6 - 6,65
