From 33cl can. Clear yellow / golden color, small white head. Smell malts and cardboard. A bit watery. Tastes like a weak pilsener: malts and just slightly bitter. Not really good.

330mL can Another one of these el cheapo lagers popping up in bottleshops down here. Kinda what you expect from a Euro lager - lowly bittered, some skunky cereally malts, good whack of diacetyl, fizzy carbonation, poor head retention. No more description is really necessary.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2010 Can. Watery golden pour, medium foamy head. Aroma of malts, sugar and syrup, faint hops. Medium bitter flavour, but watery. Not very interesting, but okay for a cheap pilsener.

330ml can into glass. White head, sweetish aroma. Slightly bitter. Crisp finish, not bad for a (very) cheap beer.

Green 0.33L can stating "Holland IMPORT Pilsener Bier". Clear golden pour, small foamy white head. Faint malt aroma with cardboard. Slightly bitter watery flavor, small bitter finish. Average pilsener.

330ml can. Tall meringue of clean white foam above a moderately golden amber base. A little skunky in the aroma with wet grain dominating. Thin and watery with a little bit of a metallic aftertaste. Quite easy to drink. Not the best but not the worst.

330 ml can labelled “Holland Import Premium Beer” bought at CR Vanguard Supermarket in North Point.

Piss-like golden yellow colour; Razor-thin head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Near zero lacing and notable carbonation; Sweet smell of malt, strong corn and rice, syrup, wet cardboard and light grass; Taste of light malt, with sweet corn, strong rice, light wet cardboard, liquorices and straw. Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is typical macro - thin malt loaded with corn and rice, fading sweetness and light wet cardboard; No real hoppiness, all from extract, with faint grass nose, strong liquorice, fake citrus, and unusually strong bitterness and astringency for finish. Too artificial to be impressive though; Slightly dry after taste, quite bitter to mouth.

Comments: One good thing about this cheapo macro is that it’s upfront and honest, listing maltose and hop extract as ingredients, and true enough it tastes like a rice and corn-loaded Chinese macro plus Flensburger-like fake bitterness. Other than that, it’s better than most Asian macros and even Budweiser. Don’t mean to be a compliment, though.

Countbeer (4748) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - DEC 1, 2010
Can: Actually quite ok. White head and clear golden yellow body. Smell is typical and taste is bit better than other cheapos from Bavaria. Pretty ok bitter and again better balanced than some others from Bavaria.
