Poured a very light and Watery yellow. Aroma is skunky and bready. Tastes like a very light Heineken. May of tasted better for a brown (not green) bottle. Got the beer for free so no loss on my end.

1/12/2011: Holland Lager 1839... Aroma: Dry, dusty, fainty funky. Appearance: Pale gold; clean and clear; whispy off-white and creamy head. Flavor: Very light toffee grains; weak bitterness. Palate: Light body; well carbonated. Overall: Tastes like a LIGHT Heineken
11.2 fl. oz. bottle from Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #26 for this beer.

Might be a decent brew if it wasnít for the green bottles sitting in the lights all day at the stores and possibly the distributors. Got this at Aldiís and thought it might compare to Heinekin or Bavaria. Guess it does so far, with that wonderful skunk funk. When will these idiots learn that you canít put the six packs of green bottles out in the light for display.

Bottle. This was the cheapest beer available at the bar...and there was a reason for that.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours clear, tiny bubbled gold with a white head.
Aroma is slightly grainy..a surprisingly low amount of skunk....
Flavour displays slightly more of both elements.
Though not great, itís not terrible either.
Honestly, I prefer this to Heineken.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Ugh. The typical green bottle lager. Laden with skunk and vegetable up front, but lets not be too harsh ... Itís just a regular olí Euro lager. Donít let it age. Serve cold. (#4937, 1/25/2013)

2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This is a slight step above the popular American name-brand beers since it does have some kind of taste. It has the slight hint of skunk that is tranditional of beers from Holland, which is why I rate it slightly higher. Itís very drinkable, slightly skunky water, I love it.

Well, itís not the worst beer Iíve ever had. But itís in the neighborhood of the worst one. Itís got a skunky smell and taste like too many cheap lagers. Bleh.

1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
Went to someones house and this was all that they had because as you can read in other reviews, they shop at Aldi. Iím not going to rate it higher because it wasnt skunky, but I was shocked it wasnít. A little bit of citrus flavor, otherwise a typical easy drinking flavorless pale lager. Better than expected but not good.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
330mL green bottle from Aldi. Clear, yellow color. White fizz. Aroma of pale grains. Smells very fresh, no skunk at all. Tastes if pale malts. Harsh wooded hop bite. Drinks pretty good. (3299)
