1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Braudog (5025) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JAN 25, 2013Bottle. Ugh. The typical green bottle lager. Laden with skunk and vegetable up front, but lets not be too harsh ... It’s just a regular ol’ Euro lager. Don’t let it age. Serve cold. (#4937, 1/25/2013)
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Patrickctenchi (1682) - columbus, Indiana, USA - APR 17, 2013
Pours clear, tiny bubbled gold with a white head.
Aroma is slightly grainy..a surprisingly low amount of skunk....
Flavour displays slightly more of both elements.
Though not great, it’s not terrible either.
Honestly, I prefer this to Heineken.
2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Hiero (52) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 21, 2012
This is a slight step above the popular American name-brand beers since it does have some kind of taste. It has the slight hint of skunk that is tranditional of beers from Holland, which is why I rate it slightly higher. It’s very drinkable, slightly skunky water, I love it.
0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 maxwelldeux (2222) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - AUG 8, 2012
Well, it’s not the worst beer I’ve ever had. But it’s in the neighborhood of the worst one. It’s got a skunky smell and taste like too many cheap lagers. Bleh.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 demmbonz (302) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Went to someones house and this was all that they had because as you can read in other reviews, they shop at Aldi. I’m not going to rate it higher because it wasnt skunky, but I was shocked it wasn’t. A little bit of citrus flavor, otherwise a typical easy drinking flavorless pale lager. Better than expected but not good.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 unclemattie (3707) - Georgia, USA - APR 8, 2012
330mL green bottle from Aldi. Clear, yellow color. White fizz. Aroma of pale grains. Smells very fresh, no skunk at all. Tastes if pale malts. Harsh wooded hop bite. Drinks pretty good. (3299)
1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 twindadplus2 (554) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 10, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pale gold color with a thin film of a head. Sour, grainy aroma and the flavor pretty much matches the aroma. This was given to me and it was presented as a "heineken clone". True as that may be, it’s not much of a compliment.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 OzarkElmo (271) - Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA - NOV 6, 2011
It wasn’t all that bad. NOT skunky. Pull date of August 2012?...Huh? Smooth, easy to drink. Once again, NOT skunky like Heineken. IT WAS FREE!!!
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 envane (557) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2011
Clear yellow with a white head. Grain aroma. Taste is medium sweet malt with sour apple notes and very light bitterness. For the same price at Aldi you can get the Weisenfbrgfn German Pilsener which is much better,
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 24, 2011
Tasted from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Poured a clear golden color with full white head, somewhat lasting, little lace. Aromas of grain and mildly musky, peppery hops. Flavors of mild malt, white bread, some hops bitterness. No adjunct off-tastes. Light body but not watery. Smooth carbonation, no harshness. Dry, pleasant finish. A pretty decent light lager. At $6/six-pack at ALDI, it’s a value.
