COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lager beer with a 400 year old tradition. Dutch history records our brewery as early as 1620, in the feudal provonce of Ultrecht. When you next come to our pretty market town of Maarssen, please stop to taste this fine, rich beer at its birthplace, but until then, please enjoy a bottle of my favorite brew, Hollande 1620.

Very pungent aroma that is a bit skunky for my tastes. Flavor is grassy with bitter hoppiness. Very little mouthfeel, not the best but not the worst.

Pours a nice light golden yellow. Aromas of hops, grass, and maybe corn. Taste is crisp with a nice mellow hop flavor.

12oz bottle pours golden with a fair amount of white head that stays and laces some. Aromas of light grains, some honey, and pale malts with grassy hops. Flavor is pretty much exactly what the aroma was. A little more bitterness than I expected on the back from the hops. Crisp and light on the palate. It is a pale lager so I didn’t expect much but it wasn’t all that bad.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2006 Definetly deserving of a try, this is a friendly little lager with a nice crisp bite to reward the palate. Serve icy cold when sweat is steaming down your brow, and you won’t regret it.

When served cold, it’s nice and light and crisp; almost like... water? But it’s alright as far as lagers go. Refreshing.

When it smells skunky, you know it’s going to taste good. Easy going down. A good lager.

Heavy white head, pale beer. Nice aroma of hops, light to medium body, dry, lively carbonation, long finish (dry, of hops). I like this style but it’s fairly one-dimensional, featuring, THE HOPS!

skunky aroma. yellow color with thin white head. not much skunk flavor, more bitter. still very refreshing. not much to say but average.

Pours a pale gold with a thin fizzy head. Aroma is skunky and hoppy, though fairly weak. Not a bad flavor: sweet and cidery with a nice crisp hoppiness, skunky up front and crisply refreshing in the finish. Not a great beer, but it hit the spot when I needed a real thirst-quencher.
