0.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
As much as Bavaria did not impress, I had been warned by the couple manning that particular tasting table that I was in for a real treat with the Hollandia. And yes, sarcasm absolutely does apply here.
Clear light straw with more exuberant carbonation clearing the way for a nonexistent nose to not meet and not greet mine. Hollandia smells exactly like cold wet water. Let me try again…maybe some crusty wonderbread in the very backside of his nose…but wait…nope, now it’s gone again. Elusive little bugger, that thing called aroma. I look at the can just to make sure, but yep, Hollandia really is a beer even though it smells like zero malts, hops, and yeast were used. I’m telling you right now that someone pulled a fast one and labeled carbonated water cans with Hollandia for some kind of April Fool’s joke. I take a sip. Oooh, fizzy cold wet watery refreshment. Alright, where are the hidden cameras? Another taste. Bitter lemon and crusty wonderbread flashes before my eyes and all goes to black…the black of a dumping bucket. Now to find some real water to cleanse my palate with.
Avoid at all costs unless you are a glutton for punishment as I am seeing as I’ll taste anything at least once.

Pours blond with low white head. Good lacing. Aroma is of grain, sugar. Taste is of grains, herbs, malt, some bitterness, very slight citrus, some unpleasant aftertaste. Palate: Light body. Overall: More bitter than expected. Not "good" but certainly not abyssal.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500ml can found at a local convenience store. Yay, random tick! Pours a light golden with a thin white cap with somehow good retention and good lacing. Aroma is faintly hoppy and faintly grainy but it is a little more intense than your usual pale lager. Premium indeed! Taste sweet (as in "sugary", not sweet as in "cool") with a nice bitter kick (don’t get too excited, though). Body is light, carbonation prickly. This isn’t the worst pale lager ever.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20

Pale gold with a white, lacy, fizzy, frothy, lasting head. Soapy. Smells of pale malt, vegetable, corn, and faint grass. Medium oily body with medium carbonation. Tastes of sweet malt, corn and cabbage with a club soda chemically finish that lasts and leaves the mouth dry.

50cl can from a local supermarket at Rhodes. Pours clear, pale golden with a diminishing white head. Aroma of grain and cooked vegetables with hints of hops, sugar and alcohol. Quite sweet with slightly unpleasant flavours and noticable bitterness in the finish. Yet another slightly unpleasant Dutch lager.

Pale Yellow Color, Short Lasting Big White Head, Decent Lacing. Sweet corn, light Peppery Hop Bitter, Light Malt. Watery. Might be OK for thirst Quenching, otherwise boring and forgettable. Drinkable. Pass It....
