3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Clear orange-amber with a creamy off-white head. Strong citrus and pine hop aroma. Really nice centennial hop flavor, not too bitter. Good solid caramel sweet malt base. Medium-light body. A nice and very drinkable beer. Really like the the hop flavor, while not being too bitter or out of balance.
Crystal hop version, 5.8%abv: A bit drier with a spicier hop flavor, but still quite tasty, with a firm bitterness in the finish. (3.4-3.5)

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at brewery. Bright orange with spotty white head. Nose is hop tactic full of Amarillo dry hops, sweet and sticky, delicious! Flavor is pale malts, high hop bitterness and modest hop flavors of pine resin and light citrus, finishes dry and bitter. Medium body and carbonation, sticky texture. A superb pale ale with a knockout aroma, very impressed with this SoCal offering !!
