COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Combines the rich full flavor of an ale with the delicate softness of a fine lager. The brewing process gives this shimmering golden beer a subtle but distinctive hop finish to complement its rich smooth maltiness. Brewed by Skyscraper Brewing for Great Beer Co. (beer marketing co.). Formerly brewed by Coast Range.

A hazy, yeasty, body. Not unappealing nose. Not too sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Good beer.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden color, white head. Slightly soapy aroma. Lavender? Herbal hops and malt. Medium body, medium carbonation. Decent for the style.

9 June 2013, bottle. Yellow, clear, steady bubbles. Nose is sweet, wet straw. Thin body and moderately fizzy. Sweet cereal malt with crisp, lemon citrus finish. Meh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Golden with a low head. Aroma of bread and biscuits - a bit of toffee too. The flavour is very refreshing, sweet with a dry final. A nice interpretation of a kölsch.

On tap. Poured thin and pale gold. Virtually no head or lacing. The aroma was metallic and citrus, some grainy, grassy notes as well. Flavor was mostly citrusy and metallic. Super thin in body, unpleasant finish. Not very good.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is light grassy. Sweet fruity, light yeasty and malty. Mild bitterness into the finish.

Bottle from Hollingshead: Color is a straw blonde with a tiny foaming of head. Aroma is simple and has a malty pale lager scent and not much else. The flavor was boring and bland with grain and grassy hop but not the kind of kolsch I prefer to drink.

12oz bottle-pours a thin white ring for a head and semi hazy gold color. Aroma is light malt/hay-caramel, fruit, some yeast. Taste is chalky, somewhat sweet medium/light malt/hay, some spice/metallic hops, yeast. Thanks jwc215 for sharing this.

In the bottle from HyVee CB. I second the previous rating in that this beer must certainly not be retired, but rather made by a different contract brewer, or for another microbrewery configuration now residing in EL Lay. This pours a dark gold with a white head. Again, since I do not care for the kolsch style, I rather liked this beer because it did not really taste like a kolsch at all. No harsh biting palate at the end, just a mildly malty golden ale taste.

Not sure that this is retired. Marked as Great Beer Company (of Los Angeles, CA) Hollywood Blonde Kolsch. Pours with a small, fizzy, white head covering a clear gold body. Aroma is a bit grassy with some sweet fruits. Taste is sweet with corn, a pretty decent kolsch. Some DMS feeling. Goes down quite well.
