Syrupy and malty, dark brown pour. No head or lacing. Cheap beer, not worth buying for taste but $3/can for 7% isn’t bad if you’re cheap I guess.

Clear ebony pour with roughly no carbonation and a reddish hue. The head is lightly tanned and quickly shifts to a porous layer. The nose is pure malt with no seemingly pairing or overpowering scent. The taste is light, sweet and somewhat metallic which to me destroys everything you get in the first 2 seconds in your mouth. No aftertaste, this one disappointed me with its metallic backbone.

Rouge foncé avec un petit tête beige. L’arôme du sucré brun et un peu de fruits noir. Le goût est similar avec une finale un peu amer. Le goût, ou chaleur, de l’alcool est toujours présent et il masque la bière un peu.

Interesting beer. Reddish brown hues and a light beige head. The aromas are very caramel-y with slight licorice and tobacco notes. There is a metallic taste at work here that makes the flavour of the beer interesting. No hop profile to speak of and very low bitterness. The licorice and metallic carry through to the after taste. Not great, not bad, just a little interesting.

Rich amber colour with a white but almost tan head. Malty aroma, and a malty taste with caramel notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Definitely some sweet liquid bread here. I bit heavy on the tongue and finishes quite strong as well. I expected worse from the look of things, but not too bad, would try again.

Not bad enough to be terrible but too far from good to be great. I’d never turn one away but would never buy again. Copper adorned with an ivory cap, a wee bit of nondescript spice tap dances on mild hops and a decent, sweet caramel malt. Creamy and a bit slick.

500ml can. Deep amber body, medium crème brûlée head with average retention. Aroma has a strong malty character: rye bread, caramel, herbs, a touch of licorice. Taste is exactly what you would expect from the nose: caramel malt, herbs, plums. Not bad.

Festbock presents a very nice blend of caramel, chocolate and coffee tones, with a nice blend of malts and hops to make this more than just a little enjoyable. As mentioned earlier, there is a slight hint of the alcohol coming through, but the above characteristics help to gloss over that minor drawback.
