500 mL can from the LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass. MR10/07

App.: Clear, golden, with a very small white head. Aroma: Apples, floral and herbaceous hops, reminds me of other German lagers (likely the hops profile), some malts as it warms. Palate: Medium-full body, fairly full carbonation. Flav.: Fruit (apple, pear), some malt, alcohol builds to the finish and competes with a cloying, oddly bitter aftertaste. Scheisse.

Besser, aber nicht gut. Noch ein Bier, bitte!

500ml can - pours fizzy, pissy yellow with a small white head that dissapeared pretty quickly. Aroma is of some sweet malt and alcohol. Some bready/biscuity notes in there. As far as flavour goes, it would have some nice malty presence if it wasn’t so totally overwhelmed by the alcohol. Very boozy off the top and in the finish, with the malt only coming forward in the middle. It’s a shame, because the malt flavour is nice, but the booze kills it. Shame, because it would be fairly decent otherwise.

From a can, Pours with a golden hue and good frothy head. Biscuity aroma, the flavour is very malty with biscuit and dark chocolate notes. There ia an alcohol kick in the finish.

Looks like piss, smells like booze, tastes like booze. I use to really like this stuff when I first started drinking beer and didn’t know better. I guess because back then the 7% gave me a nice buzz after two of them.....I’m so ashamed....

whats with the BIG 7% on the bottle. is this marketed to the boozers who are looking for osmething strong and cheap? Well in my opinion it ranks up there is the strong and cheap stuff in taste thats for sure. this is awful. Tastes like a cheap macro with a boatload of BOOZE. yuck. definetly one for the drain.

I expected good things from this can and I got none of those. This beer tastes as bad as some malt liquors that I have had. Actually, there are numerous malt liquors that taste better than this. The best description of the taste is Budweiser mixed with vodka. Have you ever had it? Maybe not, but if you drink that, then you might be able to give a pretty good review of this beer. The big 7.0 abv on the bottle makes me think that this beer is marketed to the poor and homeless.

50cl can, Shelburne. Deep golden colour, thick tasting, very sweet. Better maibock’s available, but not as bad as some reviews.

500ml Can: I’ve had this one sitting around a long, long time. Finally gathered up the nuts to give it a shot tonight. Pours copper in colour, almost no head to start, and none at all within seconds. Aroma is poor, somewhat harsh.. you can tell there’s alcohol here. The booze really comes through the in the taste, overbearingly so. How Unibroue can make 9% disappear and these guys make 7% feel like a kick in the pills is beyond me. Sadly, while I detected a subtle sweet note, the alcohol just takes over far too much to enjoy any nice tones that may exist. Poor.
