No aroma. Bright clear beer with light head. Smooth right to the bottom which is good for this strength. Nothing of not about the beer though. Just a smooth strong beer. Kind of light flavour and malt for a bock.

I just ’stumbled’ upon this beer at a provincial liquor store here in B.C. I was concerned about the beer being in a can but the subtle sweet finish makes it all worth it ... Like a fine wine in a can if you can dig it . It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada and thankful I am for this beer ... CHeers ... bottoms up :P

faint malty aroma. head disappears without even saying goodbye. some sweet grape juicy flavours aswell as some cereal-ish malt. 7%abv is too obvious.

The 7% alcohol is fairly hidden. Still not bad for that much alcohol. Had better, had wost. Still was enjoyed.

Malty aroma, golden, fluffy head. Sweet taste, some bitterness. Alcohol isn’t subtle. Average.

Appearance was nice: light golden color, frothy white head. Aroma was even nice: Fruity and slightly malty. But, then came the kicker, the taste. Damn, why does that always have to ruin a good beer. Malty, peppery, much too sweet - caramel, sugar. Blech. I thought bocks were dark, not as bad as some malt liquors i’ve had, but neverless, still vile.

Sulfury right off the bat. Light medium gold color. The flavor goes from nothing to slightly sweet very quickly. No bitterness to speak of. Round mouthfeel that leaves a sweetness on your lips. Overall not very good. Though I live a mile from the brewery and can smell it when they brew, I don’t particularly like any of the Holsten products.

Nice well balanced nose. Looks and tastes like a lager. I don’t mind the alcohol jumping out, if it has body to support it. Alas, this does not. I have not been impressed by any of the Holsten offerings, there seems to be obvious flaws with each, it’s not that bad but, I expected much more. As Oakes said, they should know better than to try to pass this off as a bock.
