very nice offering, drunk as drunk could be. Pours clean, very easy to go down. Would try again

Well I should say that this kind of beer is not really my thing but I’ll try to be evenhanded. Pours a sparkling yellow. Some head. ImpressionsL Sweet, sweet malt and punchy alcohol. The alcohol doesn’t really support the other aromas, it hits you right as it enters your mouth. The malts are dull. Just plain sweet. Barely noticable hoppiness. Tremendously one-dimensional, and I don’t like that dimension.

500 ml can from LCBO. Pours a clear gold with moderate-sized white head, some retention. Light aroma of grass and sweet fruit. Flavour has sweet, fruity malts and a little grassiness. Warm alcohol in finish. Medium+ body. Stylistically weak but certainly better than the virtual pale lager I was expecting.

Pours a clear straw yellow with a short lasting white head. Aroma is citrus and the sting of alcohol. Taste is striking alcohol, but there is apple sweetness and malts behind. Not terrible but definitely top quality maibock.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 zeek (129) - British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 12, 2009
Pale, white, sodapop like head. Beer itself is a nice golden color, very clear.
Aroma is somewhat pleasant, but smells strongly of alcohol. Taste starts off nice, mildly hoppy, but the alcohol comes through and ruins it.

500 mL can. Pours a golden orange with a huge frothy white head that bubbles away slowly. Aroma is rich in malts, but smells of grain alcohol. Taste is extremely full bodied, and the alcohol is not masked at all. Hoppy bitterness mixes with the bitter taste of alcohol, and there’s nothing there to make it worthwile.
