Perkeo (310), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 9, 2004 Clean white foam leaves some lace atop a pale and very clear golden lager. Bread and barley sugar aroma with a slight hint of pine. Medium bodied with rich clean malt with just a little sappy caramel, hops are in there but not up front. Really really clean and well crafted maibock. AaronBouchard (103), Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada May 4, 2007 500 ML can. Pours a very small head. Apple juice color.Malt like aroma.Light tasting for a German beer. A bit of sweetness in the aftertaste. A good beer to start off the night at 7% alcohol. Overall a pleasant brew. rwgould (47), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 13, 2007 0.5L can. Pours an amber colour with no head. Complex aroma smells very fruity. Palate is smooth but thick, and it leaves a light film in the mouth - not unpleasant though. Very strong sweet malt flavour. Quite overwhelming at first, but it eases up a bit. I find the malt flavour hides any other flavours that may be present. I definitely prefer the festbock. DubbelO7 (42), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 13, 2002 I just ’stumbled’ upon this beer at a provincial liquor store here in B.C.
I was concerned about the beer being in a can but the subtle sweet finish makes it all worth it ...
Like a fine wine in a can if you can dig it .
It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada and thankful I am for this beer ...
CHeers ... bottoms up :P bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Mar 22, 2002 creamy head, disappearing fast. A sweet, bit hoppy aroma.
The taste is malty and sweet with a short bitter finish. A good, but not memorable maibock
