Medium white head. Yellow body with carbonation. Grainy and buttery caramel aroma. Dry roasty grain and straw taste. with caramel notes Very clear and distinct. Harmonic. Dry grassy and floral hop aftertaste. Some residual sweetness. Surprisingly good. (0.33l bottle, Hotel Jensen minibar, Lübeck.)

Pours a golden yellow color with a white head. Aroma is light malt with some spicy hops. Flavor is light malt with a spicy hop finish.

Light drinkable MOR pils maybe more palatable than Export. From a mid-size can that looked more yellow than the picture.

Herb-frischer und leicht (angenehm) hopfiger Antrunk, nicht sehr intensiv. Sanfter werdend, die Bitterkeit wird erst angedeutet und nimmt dann schnell zu. Etwas verwaschener Abgang, der mild frischer Herbeton steht hervor, wie vorher schon mit leichtem Hopfenton. Test vom 12.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,8,9,10,-,9 - 9,10

Crisp, generally uninspiring but refreshing and nice enough as a session lager.

Not too bad actually.

Commercial Description: Water, Barley Malt and Hops. Listed in the order in which you spot them whilst drinking this beer. The last two are trace elements. Or have I misread the description, should that read ’barely malt and hops’?

The advertising campaign in the UK claims that this is ’The Daddy’. Its pleasant enough - being quite dry and refreshing. Not ’The Daddy’, though. More an uncle.

Ok, but not much aftertaste compared to other premium lagers. Reasonable, but not one i’d rush back for.

I had this in England and the can was yellow and the name was slightly different ... Holsten pils. Had enough hops, light malt, spice, and sweet floral nose. Not much complexity. Great head that vanished too quickly.
