3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2012
Bottle from store in Cape Town. Burnished red-auburn. Lively head. Spicy-sweet aroma combines cinnamon sugar with barley malt. The palate is light and soft. The finish adds some pleasant toasty malts. The flavors match the aromas, with a spicy malt profile that is unexciting but palatable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JaKeAFC (316) - ITALY - SEP 23, 2012
50cl bottle, 4.5%. Clear, copper to red color, small creamy offwhite head. Nose of soft roasted malts. Aroma is soft on the dark malts and more prominent on the hoppy side. Bitterness has a major impact here, but not bitter as a pilsener or IPA, with a caramel sweetness. Dry finish. Sustained carbonation, light bodied, a dusty feel. OK Bitter.
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 WeissGary (174) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - SEP 8, 2012
Pours a pale dark ruby red with a fair frothy head. No strong aroma, slight malty highlights. Definitely a malty taste upfront however this is quickly taken over by a dry hoppy finish with overall creamy features. I quite like this beer, it is sessionable but has a nice ’sipping factor’ to it.

light aroma has caramel and fruits. Clear red/brown, some lacing. Taste has malting on top, bit butter and fruits. Thin body, mild carbonation, dry finish. Bit plain and not that interesting.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 BlackHaddock (2365) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2012
Brown 500ml bottle, best before 25 Nov 2008, drank 09 Jan 2008, which was cold wet and windy dat in Shropshire.
Poured into a pint sleeved glass.
Good colour, a deep terracotta red/amber with a weak biege head that tried to stay, but failed.
Some malt, hops and fruits of the forrest are in the aroma, but it isn’t a heavy smelling beer.
The flavour is a well balanced mix of the basic ingrediance that should be in good strong bitter.
A little weak in the mouthfeel, not really watery, but not a thick feel either.
No a bad beer, one I would have again but not look for.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martin243 (478) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - APR 29, 2012
500 ml bottle served cellar cool in a chalice. Lovely tawny amber colour, with a good off-white head. Malty aroma, with a nice nutty toffee flavour, incorporating some rich tea biscuit. Medium bodied, slick texture, gentle carbonation. A little hop bitterness in the finish. For 99p at B&M, I wasn’t expecting greatness, but this is one of those self-effacing English bitters that manages to be more than the sum of it’s parts. I’m looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed this immensely. 99p from BM Bargains. Went back for more but finished. Nice deep, dark and thick.
