Handpulled at the Lamb Hotel, Eccles. Amber with white head. It takes a while to get tuned in to Holts but when you do it is still dagerously drinkable. The crawl from Eccles to Patricroft via scores of Holts Houses is one of my UK favourites.

Cask. A disappointing amber coloured bitter with very little flavour or aroma.

Excellent smooth ale very little flavour but great character in its bitterness.

Clear amber colour with small to average sized creamy off-white head.
Mild fruity and woody malty aroma with some berry notes.
Mild woody malty flavour with mild bitter floral hops. Smooth. Dry woody aftertaste.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white and creamy head. Aroma is roasted malty and slight breadish. Bitter and roasted malt flavoured. Dry malty. Roasted and dry bitter finish.

Cask.
Aroma has lots of malt, with some underlying fruit, copper, small off-white head. Flavour has more fruit than the nose, some pleasing malt too. Light bodied, balanced, fine bitterness. A good session.

Cask at the Hare and Hounds, Manchester. Light brown in color. Aroma of hops, some caramel/toffee, and spices. Ok malt taste, strong hops. Good caramel sweetness; slightly fruity with a touch of citrus. Hoppy, bitter finish with citrus and pepper. Pretty nice, with decent malt character.

Cask. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is very light with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry bitter finish. Boring.

Cask @ Crown & Anchor, Manchester M3. Pours a clear dark golden color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty aroma with some weak hoppy hints. Fruity malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty finish.

Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090124]
