3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 imdownthepub (7491) - Banbury, - APR 9, 2006
Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml. Brownish Amber with pale head. Thinnish but hoppy bitter which hides the alcohol. Grassy, oily hop presence with a sweetish mid malt base. Short on the finish. Its a fairly decent beer, will have to try again

Bottle in Manchester.
Pleasant malty body, nice citrus hoppiness - a refreshing beer. Enjoyable, but not overly complex. A cask version would be nice. Sweet fruit in the finish.

A Mes rate: Bottle at the Three Crowns, Macclesfield. Dark gold with a thin white rim. Tobacco hoppage, caramel malty notes. Plenty of bread. Characteristic Holts maple syrup. Intense hoppy flavour? I don’t think so. I’ve had worse though.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAR 12, 2008
Cheap in my new local, prefer some of the other Holts beers though. It smells like an ashtray with a load of liquorice rizla spliffs dimped out in it, fortunately it doesn’t taste like it. £1.95 in a pub, not bad that. Got a toffee, caramel, syrupy kind of thing going on, not too much sweetness. Nice enough and I did enjoy it when I didn’t get the smell. Just let down by the smell of an old peoples home though.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 berkshirejohn (3020) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 29, 2007
500ml bottle. Golden amber with a dense white head;slightly stewed caramel aroma with a hint of citrus; initially dry and hoppy, then developing a chewy, jammy, sweetness, some citrus flavours, kumquat perhaps, leaving a sticky finish.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Maria (8585) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAY 3, 2007
Warm golden with a huge and nice head. The aroma has notes of fruit, caramel and the flavour is fruity with notes of caramel, roasted malt, nuts and a refreshing citrus bitterness. It’s both very light and refreshing - but it also has a nice and full body, just like the others I tasted from the brewer. A clear recommendation!
