2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Very pale golden with a luscious head that spritzers into the body with each tilt. Creamy cereally nose, barely noticeable. Weirdly cold pour, possibly from the distinctive Holt Handpull. Watery crisp cornflake malt, lifeless hop and inoffensive bitter finish. Not horrendous but not actually tasting of anything.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Fresh and dry pale malt, slight rawness. Okay mild citrus hops. Finishes dry with a mellow bitter linger. It’s fine but a bit a bit dry.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a ring of white head; malty aroma; soft and malty in the mouth with a gentle bitterness and a hint of spice. Surprisingly full bodied, and a good standard bitter - but not an IPA!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The City Arms, Coventry, 17/04/13. Pine and fennel on nose; tea and biscuits, metal, breakfast cereal. Slim-topped, fine-lacing, burnished lager gold. Still, soft alkaline condition; cornflake, straw, lemony wheat, dried apricot and aniseed-hinting flavour. Some puffed rice. Wet dough linger. Utterly bog standard, politely English, perfectly drinkable northern bitter.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask @ Standing Order, Edinburgh
Blonde, clear, dense white head good lacing
Aroma of faint pale sweet malt
Taste - Very little initially, quite watery, very light fruits, very soft pale malt, most of the flavour is in the finish, sot cereal
Palate - Thinnish body, little oily. Finish of light fruits, dryish, very soft pale fruit hops. dry tail
Overall - A typical watery bland ’English IPA’ - water and little flavour. It was palatable, I could finish a pint no problem but its boring ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz
