Bottle. Bronze with plenty of body considering its relative weakness. Some maltiness and slightly burnt. Impressive label makes it stand out. Quite nice.

Malty aroma with a touch of caramel. Quite a mild flavoured beer. Bittersweet with a smokey edge and a dry finish.

AleManTom (194) - Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - JUL 16, 2011
Colour, chestnut with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, maybe a bit of tobacco. Taste, average, not as good as Newcastle Brown, but still a good drink with a medium body. 13/20, I enjoyed it, that’s it.

DruncanVeasey (5150) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2011
Bottle from Booth’s. Pours chestnut with a slim cream disc. Rusty tin can full of Werthers aroma. Drab taste like sucking on a pine cone drizzled with caramel and iron filings. No true malt or BA character, and too much rusty drainpipe for my liking.

weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2011
Bottle at The Three Crowns, Macclesfield. The best beer they sell in there by a mile. Steer clear of the Holts Diamond or Crystal. Absolute piss. Reddish brown with medium white head. A lot of caramel in the aroma and tobacco as many other Holts brews do. More caramel in the flavour with some sweetness. I’ve drunk a few of these as I drink in a few Holts pubs and when in those pubs next time there is only one choice.

Bottled. A brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel.

bobinlondon (1179) - Harrow, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 21, 2009
Bottle at home (bought in Manc). Dark amber red with a good thick beige head. Subtle maltiness with a touch of caramel and only a hint of hops. Pleasent enough as a thirst quencher.

davegore (215) - liverpool, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2009
Bottle from Asda, pours a dark amber, nice colour with some burnt malts but it’s let down slightly by the fact that there is just no depth to the beer, it’s almost like it’s been diluted for want of a better description. A nice bitterness at the end, just needs more depth
