Bottle 500ml. from Waitrose, Christchurch. Pours amber with off white head. Aroma has malty overtone. However, when it comes to taste, maple syrup is very prominent. A bit too sweet and syrupy for me. More of a novelty beer than a session beer.

Bottle. Caramel and malt in the aroma. Amber appearance. Bitter sweet flavour. Maple, malt. Smooth and bitter all in one. Weird.

Caramel in colour, very very thin head . Sweet smell with a hint of coffee. Sweet smooth and a taste of maple syrup.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours amber with off-white head. Could taste maple along with plenty of malt and hops. Nice for a pasteurised beer.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2009 Slightly metallic nose. Pours rich amber with a firm, tan head. Flavour is refreshing, with a reasonable hoppy bitterness/malty sweetness balance. Donít get any maple at all. More metallic notes in the finish unfortunately, but ok over all.

Bottled. An amber coloured beer with a short lived off-white head. An earthy English best bitter with some sweet syrupy notes in the aroma. Donít get Cascade or maple in the taste. Instead some nettly hop. Not bad, especially for a pasteurized bottle from a regional.

Bottle, Morrisons, West Kirby. Guess what ? its maple syrup coloured, and its flat and unfinishable. Sweetish bildge. Not a pleasant experience. Down the sink with ya !

Bottle at my new local The Three Crowns watching United. Not that impressed really but wasnít horrible. Darkish amber, thin head that went almost instantly. Yep, slight maple flavour but a bit burnt and tobacco type flavour and smell. Could do better.

Disgusting - I had to poor this away, the maple taste didnít go at all and I couldnít get past that taste. Itís my own fault though as I donít like maple, so shouldnít have wasted my money on it. I wonít be too harsh on the rating for this reason!

Obvious burnt sugar and subtle leafy hop aroma. Honey-coloured pour with white halo. Tasty toffeeish brew with some considerable (if not especially natural-tasting) bitterness. Hops vanish in the mouth. Traces of apple, honey...wait a minute..yep, maple syrup. Chalky smooth and northern. Ruined a bit by that late astringent bitterness. Probably much nicer unpasteurised...
