Bottle shared at the tropical Croydon tasting at Paulís. 01/07/2015. Reddy / caramel brown coloured pour with a loose light tan head. Aroma is farmyard, dirty, stale malts, malty, some alcohol. Flavour is composed of nutty malts, metallic notes, spicy rough bitterness. Some jammy fruits in the Irish. Palate is medium sweet, little papery. Bad.

Bottle. The last time I came across this was in a long time closed off licence in Hackney. It was considered a rare beer then-I bought this one from Morrisonís. Dark brown with a medium head. Lovely flavour that lingers. A medium body and an impressive beer. A blast from the past that hasnít mellowed with time.

Hanoi (619) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - AUG 25, 2015
Bottle on an ASDA deal as part of budget month. Nose is muted, dark malts, some fruit cake, raisin, dry bread yeast note, slight herbal hop note. Taste is dark malts, bread, must, raisins, slight sherry, red berryís. The finish is dry, nutty and slightly metallic. Mouthfeel is too thin for the style. The beer never really getís going, and offer surprisingly little taste or depth for itís high ABV.

Bottle thanks to Daniel. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, dark fruits, berry skin, toffee and toasty sugars. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, berry yoghurt, plum skin, dark fruits, raisin, fruit cake, date and some jamminess. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty juicy and fruity. Not bad.

Bottle share at Paulís. BB April 2016, 6%. Dark reddy brown, small foamy tan head. Aroma is bread, liquorice, yeast. Body is medium, a little foamy. Taste is bready, rye spice, toast and a little ash. A basic malty beer. Nothing too inspiring, but alright.

Tropical Croydonia Bottleshare. Thanks to Dan. Almost clear deep brown - amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy with modest fine carbonation. Light malt cream, touch papery. Modest floral bitterness. Light dry finish. Not delivering much for itís abv.

500m . In a La Chouffee tulip. I have scrolled right past this beer many tims , but I got a psychic message that it might be a new tick as I yawned while in the shitty Morrisons section with no other newbies . A big coffee accent in the nose ,..earthy soil hops , licorice , dark chocolate bite .This nose has attitude , I like it ! This brew is a burnt purple/red liquid and with a large khaki cream head rests well in the tulip. the flavours suggest roasted malts , bitter and rich coffee expression , coffee , roasty licorice . . Notes of chewy dark toffee malts ,burnt butterscotch . Quit a cloying , syrupy palate through out . Rounded up with a nice kinda mellow dry conclusion !

Bottle @ Croydonia. Deep amber with a small head. Nose of cocoa crisp and old donuts. Sort of sweet and unresponsive. Taste is similar. Bread and cocoa. A touch nuttey. General knackered maltiness. Meh.

Leighton (14389) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 1, 2015
Bottle shared in London - thanks to Daniel, a real player. Pours deep amber-brown with a creamy off-white head. Rich fruity aroma, grapes, berries. Medium sweet flavor with rich berries, some toffee, raspberry seeds, bread. Medium bodied kith average carbonation. Finishes somewhat sweet with more berries, earthy bitterness, berry seeds and skins. So so.
