A decent drink this, and 1.95 in my local pub. I think we have a new drink for my on match days. Slight caramel and chocolate in there but quite subtle. Pretty much black and pretty much tasty. Good work.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 leaparsons (7080) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 6, 2007
Bottle. Black with red tints and a beige foam. Aromas are milk and dark chocolate with raisins. Lightly roasted with herbal notes. Flavours are rich and malty with dark chocolate and its bitterness. Fruity with dark berries. Dark syrup with some smokiness. Alcohol on the finish. The sparkle lets it down a touch but overall this is very decent.

Bottle, from York Beer Shop. Deep red brown almost black. Thin off white head and gentle condition. Starts off with a thick barley wine aroma that mellows quickly to leave a beefy roasted malt note and some sweet burnt toffee. Mouthfillingly sweet and malty in the mouth with a gentle smokiness and some fruitiness. Finish is long and roasted with some chalkiness and a suggestion of wood.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2004
Quite a rare beer, I had it during it's first cask outing for years in 1994 and again a few years back and it hasn't changed much. Rich red/brown beer, some alcohol escaping and caramel malt. Too sweet but some redeeming roastiness and bitterness. The alcohol is very prominent, spoiling the mouthfeel. (cask in Crown & Anchor, Manchester)
