3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark brown coloured body with a bit of a clear brown glow and a decent, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of earth, light nuts, malt, peanut butter and a bit of caramel and unfinished sugars. Medium-bodied; Malty flavour at first with a hint of peanuts, some light earth and some cardboardie flavours that finish with some definite breadiness and touches of yeast. Aftertaste has more of the same with the malt hitting first, then some subdued earth notes and finally a bit of unfinished sugars and yeast. Overall, a decent beer - showing some good qualities, but overall, about average. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Charleston Beer Exchange in Charleston, South Carolina on 19-April-2015 for US$1,79 sampled at home in Washington on 05-May-2016.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can. Pours dark chocolate brown with a thick and persistent tan head. Aroma delivers anemic but still tempting roast malt, chocolate and caramel tones. Flavor is definitely bolder, presenting chocolate, roast malt, caramel and molasses tones. Mouthfeel presents firm body and good fizz. Get pluff, but if you get too muddy, please contact Lyft or Uber.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On draught at the brewery. Pours a medium brown, with a moderate khaki head. Nose is roasted malt, and the taste follows. Classic porter flavor of dark roast malt followed by just the right amount of hop bitterness on the finish. True to style, and quite tasty.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour from a 120z can. Inky black brew with small tan head, decent head retention. Light aroma of toasted malt with chocolate overtones. Taste is light toasted malt up front, a little sweet, grows to be dominated by toasted grain notes, tapers to a lightly sweet finish. Stays rather sweet throughout. Very tasty but light, apparently by design, for a Porter. I could see swapping this for a Vienna on a warm day when I still would like something more on the toasted malt side.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured into a snifter.
3.0 A: Black color. One and a half fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is below average and a short ring of lacing is left.
3.5 S: There’s some roastiness, but it’s a lot more toasty and nutty. Chocolate and tangy caramel. It’s okay but it could use some more maltiness.
3.25 T: The taste is distinctly tangy. Tangy caramel to be specific. Again a mix of roast, toast, and nuttiness. It’s on the drier side and could benefit from more maltiness. Aside from that, it has a good flavor profile if the tanginess were put in check.
3.25 M: Lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Lacking in creaminess, but still refreshing.
3.25 D: It’s decent, but has some problems.
