Bottle share at the Syb Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Thanks Ken! Pours a mostly dark brown-black with a one finger tan head. Head gone in under 60 seconds. Little lacing. Used a snifter. Aroma of roasted malts, hint of coffee, dark chocolate. Taste fell a little flat. You get the roasted malts fine but it just seemed to not exude much in flavor. A little thin for my taste regarding a porter. Medium body, light carbonation. Finish is roasty and slightly bitter.

Draft (Craftsmen, Charleston SC, May 2015). Head is mostly/fully diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, roasted grain), with a note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. A simple and overly-sweet rendition.

12 oz can. Picked up a 6-pack while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasty malt, some nuttiness, hint of coffee, piney hops. Taste is bittersweet chocolate, caramel malts, white bread, hop resin, and a bit of cream. Dry and somewhat bitter, not really what I expect in a porter. Hops come through a bit too pronounced for this style. Medium bodied, creamy texture, moderate carbonation.

12 oz can poured into glass at Poogan’s Porch in Charleston, SC. Poured a dark brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of coffee and some chocolate. Medium bodied porter with roasty, malty taste. Ok porter; a lot better porters out there.

On tap in Charleston. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Roasty, malty sweet, toffee aromas. Malty sweet, toffee flavors. Sweet malty version of a porter, not really my favorite version of the style.

Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a malt and chocolate aroma. Appearance- This beer pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Taste- Has a nice malt flavor that is more on the mild side for porters. very enjoyable. Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation. It has a slightly oily texture that goes well with the flavor Overall- A very solid porter. If you are new to porters this is a good one to try.

Bottle, shared by a kind soul, in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours a dark reddish brown with a small head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is rich and roasty, nicely malty in a nutty way with a light coca character.

The flavor is a little sweeter than I’d prefer it’s got a nice level of roasty bitterness, some chocolate, some nuttiness. It’s a touch off balance but it s got some nice things going on.

On tap, poured into a sampler glass. Coffee and chocolate covered raisin aromas jump from the dark, opaque, raisin colored beer that’s topped by a dense, off white head that keeps a medium ring and a light lace. The taste is a medium, balanced bittersweet. The fuzzy beer is thin and light with a medium rich body containing fig and coffee flavors. The finish has a brief jolly rancher sweetness and a gritty coffee bitterness. The aftertaste is smokey coffee and clove.

Can. To be honest this beer is not good. Decent nutty aroma. Flavor is sort of dirty, tangy, and nutty. Maybe this would pass for a brown ale but not like anyporter i have had.
