Pours gold in color with white head. 10 blueberries flowed up and down with the intense stream of carbination. Taste is blueberry with a backbone of budweiser. A must get, even if only one.

Draft at Holy Grail. Poured clear amber color with blueberries added and an average rocky white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Aroma was moderate blueberry tone. Flavor was moderate blueberry with a good balanced finish of moderate duration. Medium body with pleasing smooth texture and lively carbonation. Average fruit beer.

This beer was formerly brewed by the defunct Oldenburg Brewery at their Holy Grail location near the University of Cincinnati. Now that Holy Grail has different owners and other locations, it is contracted brewed for them by Rivertown. I had it on draft for the first time since Oldenburg’s demise at the Holy Grail location in Delhi Township on January 7, 2012. Medium gold color, small head that slowly depleted with little lacing, lively carbonation, strong blueberry aroma, with real blueberries in the bottom of each glass, just like in the Oldenburg days. The taste is medium to strong tart and bittersweet with strong blueberry notes. There is slight astringency, and the bitterness isn’t very appealing, detracting from the overal experience. Still, better than I remember it from the Oldenburg days.
