3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: APR 16, 2012 THIS IS NOT AN IMPERIAL STOUT. THIS IS AN IMPERIAL BLACK ALE. That being said: this is a very complex beer. Dark and rich with a pretty quick finish. This is not a beer for the uninitiated. Complex fruity heads. Large aroma out of the bottle. Tastes like it pushes for its gravity. Might mature beautifully if put up for a year or two, and mellow that bite out a bit, or smooth it. Overall a very interesting offering.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours rich opaque black with a tremendous foamy mocha head, actually needed patience for the pour. Aroma is malty, with coffee and chocolate nose and some licorice. Very different and complex taste, sweet with tastes of chocolate and appreciable berries. The finish is dry and flat. Quaff Score 6 / 10 For a different Imp Stout try it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark black with a brown head and aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is sweet, of roasted malt, chocolate, fruit, and hops with a dry, smooth finish. Interesting brew, the fruit flavors really come through and provide a unique taste to an imperial stout.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle 33 cl, trade. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, roasted, malty, dark fruits, fidges, port and nutty. Flavor is acidy, sourish, sweet, coffee... much like aroma, very drinkable with decent bitterness. Finishes roasted coffee and fruity.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is by far one of my favorite beers. I love the aroma of chocolate and roasted smells. The appearance is Black clear and frothy with the reddish pomegranate showing in the head. I would love to know how to clone this as I would have it all the time.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Helt svart öl med brunt skum. Doft av kaffe och mörka bär. Smaken är bra balanserad mellan en viss sötma och en påtaglig rostad ton och beska.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Trevliga dofter av choklad, kaffe och citron. Smakar aningen för bittert för min del, men är ändå ingen dum öl alls, där framför allt den mörka chokladen dominerar och svartvinsbärsaft finns i bakgrunden.

nice subtle aroma very dark but thin head strong oak and vanilla notes but a slight sour astringent flavor over power. I’d get again though

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Jet black body... two finger brown head that receded to a nice skim... not much in the way of lacing.
S: Coffee, cocoa, a zing of pomegranate... some dark fruits from the belgian yeast.. raisins and figs mostly
T: A tad downhill from the nose... the pomegranate kind of gets in the way of what is otherwise a very nice coffee/cocoa flavor... dark fruits are also here... booze is well masked
M: A tad thick and chewy up front, lingering, watery aftertaste.
O: An interesting experiment... certainly worth a try, the pomegranate might be more up your alley than mine.
