2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours black with a finely bubbled thick head and lace.
Bitter, sweet with heavy palate and metallic.
I enjoy some of the most bitter beers but Iím not sure what went wrong here.

pours dark dark brown almost black; head is brown with a redish ring; aromas of dark chocolate and roasted malt little cherry maybe; tastes of a dominant chocolate malt, cherry and coffee on the finish which lasts-coffee dominant in the aftermath...sweet but good

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. Bottle. I was not a fan of this beer. Smelled sour upon pouring and this carried over into the flavor. It did pour a nice color, but that was the best thing about it. I will have to try it again in the future.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Wow, an interesting beer. Nice, full roasty chocolate coffee, with just a hint of fruity sourness that keeps you interested. My only quibble were that it was a bit thin on the mouth. The pomegranate was very subtle; tt easily could have been overdone. Nice beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks Daknole for this bottle. 12 oz 2008 bottle. Pours black with no head. Nose of roasted malts, smoke, dark fruit, and brown sugar. A little sharp bite of carbonation that smoothes out across the palate. Chocolate and roast with a finish of sweet/sour pomegranate. Great brew.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle poured into a snifter: Aroma of pomegrante shines through nicely! Awesome aroma. Taste smokey to me, slightly sour. Different for me, but grew on me as I drank. Intresting beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an opaque, dark. Head is thin, yet dense and coherent; tan with a purplish tinge. Aroma is restrained, with alcoholic fruit (cherry, grape, and, yes, pomegranate) most prevalent. Some chocolate malts are present, but they are definitely relegated to the background. Taste is dominated by fruitiness (again, pomegranate and cherry) with burnt chocolate malts playing a supporting role. Alcohol is detectable throughout and almost threatens to upend the other flavors. In sum, a good, but not great, fruit beer. On a personal note, my inner epicurean applauds the brewer for trying this combination, as pomegranate and chocolate make an awesome combination. But this beer is a bit unbalanced. There needs to be more malt flavor here; I simply didnít get that roasted flavor characteristic of a stout. Alcohol needs to be toned down a bit. Some issues, but this could be a winner and fill a real niche in the fruit beer category.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Loved this beer. Had if from a bottle and at the Alabama brewfest thing in Huntsville. I thought it had a bit of that sweet sour thing going on. Complex and interesting. Very good!

3.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours with faint head that is dark brown, roasted flavor very apparent and finishes with the sweeter side of pomegranate. Hints of chocolate with adequate body. Easy to drink and enjoyable.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The appearance did not impress me at all. The head was not even a centimeter thick and vanished within a second. There was no lacing. It was black when looking through the glass, but towards the top you noticed some faint red hues.
This beer was very drinkable though. Iím not a fruity beer fan so my expectations were low. But I found the pomogranite mixed with stout to be quite tasty. The pom taste is not overpowering at all, and compliments rather than conquers. I wouldnít drink more than one in a sitting but found this to be a nice little treat at the end of the day.
