Dark chocolate barley and roasted grains paired with American hops and Belgian yeast create a mouthful of flavors, but wait thats not all, add a hint of pomegranate juice and what you have here is not your run of the mill fruit beer. You’ve hit the mother load. At 8%ABV this ale is suitablefor aging 1-2 years. Brewed by Florida Beer Co for Gordash Brewing.

Rocket City Brew Fest 2011 - interesting beer. Not sure what it was. It was like a stout but with a strange fruit syrup-iness injected. Acidic and tart which helped to offset the sweet. Alcohol was present in the taste - a good thing in this case. Not highly carbonated.

Poured from a 12oz bottle a pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is very pleasing of milk chocolate, raspberry truffles, and pomegrant. Flavor is amazing or rich chocolate that is complemented by the slight tartness from the pomegrant. Different from any other beer I have had....absolutely delicious!!!

pours dark dark brown almost black; head is brown with a redish ring; aromas of dark chocolate and roasted malt little cherry maybe; tastes of a dominant chocolate malt, cherry and coffee on the finish which lasts-coffee dominant in the aftermath...sweet but good

12 oz. Bottle. I was not a fan of this beer. Smelled sour upon pouring and this carried over into the flavor. It did pour a nice color, but that was the best thing about it. I will have to try it again in the future.

Wow, an interesting beer. Nice, full roasty chocolate coffee, with just a hint of fruity sourness that keeps you interested. My only quibble were that it was a bit thin on the mouth. The pomegranate was very subtle; tt easily could have been overdone. Nice beer.

Thanks Daknole for this bottle. 12 oz 2008 bottle. Pours black with no head. Nose of roasted malts, smoke, dark fruit, and brown sugar. A little sharp bite of carbonation that smoothes out across the palate. Chocolate and roast with a finish of sweet/sour pomegranate. Great brew.

Bottle poured into a snifter: Aroma of pomegrante shines through nicely! Awesome aroma. Taste smokey to me, slightly sour. Different for me, but grew on me as I drank. Intresting beer.

Pours an opaque, dark. Head is thin, yet dense and coherent; tan with a purplish tinge. Aroma is restrained, with alcoholic fruit (cherry, grape, and, yes, pomegranate) most prevalent. Some chocolate malts are present, but they are definitely relegated to the background. Taste is dominated by fruitiness (again, pomegranate and cherry) with burnt chocolate malts playing a supporting role. Alcohol is detectable throughout and almost threatens to upend the other flavors. In sum, a good, but not great, fruit beer. On a personal note, my inner epicurean applauds the brewer for trying this combination, as pomegranate and chocolate make an awesome combination. But this beer is a bit unbalanced. There needs to be more malt flavor here; I simply didn’t get that roasted flavor characteristic of a stout. Alcohol needs to be toned down a bit. Some issues, but this could be a winner and fill a real niche in the fruit beer category.

My favorite Holy Mackerel variety. Coffee, burnt caramel and lots of earth on the palate. Delicious.

Loved this beer. Had if from a bottle and at the Alabama brewfest thing in Huntsville. I thought it had a bit of that sweet sour thing going on. Complex and interesting. Very good!
